Certification Process

Step One.

Your first step in the certification process is completing the Certification Request Form on this website. Once we receive your request, a dedicated team member will contact you to discuss your goals, answer any questions you may have about the program, and guide you through the next steps. We’ll also provide detailed information on the program requirements and timelines. We’re here to support you throughout your certification journey, ensuring you have all the resources and guidance you need to succeed.

Step Two.

After successfully passing the review process and being accepted into the program, you’ll select the first in-person training course that fits your schedule and begin planning to attend. We offer at least two instructor training events each year, giving you flexible options for your training. As a new participant, you’ll also receive access to the online Instructor’s Academy, which includes video reference materials and training manuals to help you prepare for your first event. All training sessions are personally taught by Alan Baker, the founder of the Protection Response Tactics® system, ensuring you receive instruction directly from the source.

Step Three.

Attend your first training event, a comprehensive three-day session covering the essential materials and skills needed to achieve certification in your chosen level of the Protection Response Tactics system. Beyond the core techniques and strategies, you’ll also receive training in speaking and presentation skills, instructional tools, and teaching principles to enhance your effectiveness as an instructor. Our mission is to equip you with everything needed to excel as a top-level instructor.

Continued Training

Once you complete your initial certification event, you’ll gain access to all Protection Response Tactics® instructor training events, provided you maintain active certification. Coach Alan offers this ongoing access to support your continuous growth and advancement within the system. As a dedicated educator, he is committed to helping each instructor reach their full potential and keep developing their skills.

Advancement Options

The Protection Response Tactics System is structured into six phases of training. With a Level 1 certification, you’ll be qualified to teach Phases 1 and 2. Each instructor level corresponds to two phases of the curriculum, giving you a clear path for progression. If you’d like to teach advanced stages, you have the opportunity to work toward Level 2 or Level 3 certification, allowing you to grow and expand your expertise within the system. This tiered approach offers flexibility for continuous advancement in the method.
